KVK organizes two days training
ITANAGAR, Dec 12: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Upper Subansiri district unit organized two days training programme for extension personnel of the Department of Agriculture, Horticulture and Fishery of the district on 9th and 10th December. Twenty extension personnel participated in the programme with great enthusiasm. The programme started with the welcome speech by Dr Deepanjali Deori, Programme Coordinator of the KVK.
She also highlighted about the mandated activities of KVK. Rukdam Jeram SDAO, Nacho and Thupyong Singpho DHO Daporijo were also present on the occasion.
Training on “Nutrient management of declining orchard of Khasi mandarin orange” was demonstrated by Nyape Bam SMS Soil. Later on Arbind Pratap SMS Agronomy gave training on “Potato cultivation by True potato seeds”. The technical session closed on the first day with training on “Integrated Paddy cum Fish cultivation” by Dipjyoti Bora, PA, Fishery. On the second day SMS Agronomy, SMS Soil Science and Programme Assistant, fishery gave trainings on “Seed germination and testing, Soil health and nutrient management and Integrated Paddy cum fish cultivation” respectively and programme concluded with valedictory function.
Silver Jubilee of conferment of Nobel Peace prize to the Dalai Lama celebrated
BOMDILA, Dec 12: The Tibetan settlement camp at Tenzingaon under Kalaktang circle in the district celebrated the completion of the 25 years of the conferment of the Nobel Peace Prize to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama. ITANAGAR, Dec 12: Hurt by the alleged act of partiality and undermining the sentiments of the people of Basar constituency by some certain community based organizations and students unions, the Basar Area Students’ Union (BASU) in a meeting today decided to boycott any activities of those organizations within Basar Assembly constituency.
The meeting further decided to call a series of phase wise Lower Siang district bandh with first phase of the democratic movement starting in the form of Chakka Bandh on December 22 and 23 from 5 am demanding declaration of Basar as headquarter of Lower Siang district by the government as per Cabinet approval in 2009 before January 26, 2015 and making it functional with immediate effect.

PRI leaders for early construction of bridge over Banyom Koro
ITANAGAR, Dec 12: The PRI leaders of Baririjo Anchal Samiti Block have expressed concern over the delay in the construction work of the new alternative RCC bridge over Banyom Koro at NEC road under Ronya village.
In its representation to the Executive Engineer, PWD, Dumporijo division, seeking immediate construction of the bridge, it wanted to know why, the concern contractor and the executing department, is delaying its construction work and said that it would hold responsible both in case of any damage of property or loss of life.
The bridge is the lifeline for number of villages such as Haji, Gongo, Ronya, Panimuri, Labri, Laigi, Dego etc.

PTA expresses concern on handing over of school to NGO
ITANAGAR, Dec 12: The Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of KGBV, Bameng has expressed displeasure over the news that the school is being leased out to an NGO yet again.
The association in its letter submitted to the state project director, SSA, claimed that the school, since it came under the direct supervision of East Kameng education department in 2012, has been functioning well.
KGBV Bameng, during the time it was operated by an NGO couple of years back, it had the worst administration. The school was almost defunct and it was on the verge of closing down. During that period, we worked in close coordination with the district administration and revived the sick school. Google to launch CM’s Global Education Prog. in state
NEW DELHI, Dec 12: Chief Minister Nabam Tuki’s recent visit to Google Headquarters, Mountain View, California, USA seems to bear fruit as Google Inc has agreed in principle to launch Arunachal specific project and bring in solutions for imparting global standard education to the students of the state.
In a communiqué from Parliamentary Secretary, Education, IPR and Government Spokesperson Bamang Felix, who along with Education Secretary and Planning Secretary, Government of Arunachal held a meeting with Gagandeep Singh Puri, Head of Education in India for Google here today, stated that Google has agreed to launch a special programme for Arunachal titled “Chief Minister’s Global Education Programme”.

Bank robbery attempt foiled at Daporijo
Daporijo, Dec 12: A bank robbery attempt in the Arunachal Pradesh State Co-

Arunachal to get Regional Research Centre for Temperate Horticulture soon
ITANAGAR, Dec 12: Arunachal Pradesh will soon get a Regional Research Centre for Temperate Horticulture which is expected to boost up production of temperate crops in the state. This was informed by Deputy Director General (Horticulture ) ICAR, Dr. K K Krishna Kumar in presence of Rajya Sabha MP Mukut Mithi to the Minister of Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandary, Chowna Mein and Parliamentary Secretary (Horticulture) Mutchu Mithi in a meeting in New Delhi today.
In this regard, earlier the Chowna Mein had written a letter to the Govt of India for early establishment of the research centre. The Reseach centre will be the first of its kind in the country besides the Central Institute of Temperate Horticulture (CITH) at Srinagar in J&K.
The Minister urged the ICAR authority to expedite the process of establishment of the said centre so that farmers could reap the benefits. In the states like Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, establishment of such institutes ensured the full technical back for scientific production and as a result, temperate horticulture boomed in those states to become an important source of revenue for the states.

the State with considerable production of Apple and Kiwi but the pace of development
is not at a desirable rate as Arunachal Pradesh remained dependent on J&K and Himachal

CSS not being implemented properly in Upper Subansiri

DAPORIJO, Dec 12: Upper Subansiri district is one of the most backward districts in the state. Despite being awarded various centrally sponsored special packages, there has been no significant development due to either poor implementation or non implementation of those schemes.
Although vigilance committee and other monitoring committee members from the state visit to monitor physical and financial status of the implemented scheme but they never reach to the project sites as most works of such schemes, like IWMP, are located in very remote areas.
There are also reports of overlapping of schemes implemented in Siyum, Nacho, Limeking, Chetam and Giba area and most of the works are not visible. Moreover, the DPR prepared for most of the sanctioned schemes are not feasible, claimed district BJP President Tapa Dadi.
Recently, the newly inducted member of the District Level Vigilance and Monitoring Committee, who visited Siyum circle, informed that there are many such schemes which are neither properly implemented nor there are any record of maintenance, he told.

Pharmacy to bring succor to BPL patients
TEZU, Dec 12: Tezu Sunpura MLA Dr. Mohesh Chai inaugurated a Rogi Kalyan Samiti Pharmacy at District Hospital, Tezu yesterday in presence of Deputy Commissioner Dr. B M Mishra, Superintendent of Police Ved Prakash Surya, heads of departments of Lohit, Medical Officers and officials of Tezu District Hospital.
The Rogi Kalyan Samiti Pharmacy under the Hospital Management Society of District Hospital Tezu will function 24X7 and M/s Tayang Medical Hall Tezu has been authorized to run the hospital by a board on tender basis.
Dr. Chai appreciated the activities initiated by the health department to facilitate the patients in the medical compound. A round the clock pharmacy is essential especially during emergencies and this requirement has been fulfilled with opening of this pharmacy, he said. He has also asked the team to work professionally and dedicatedly.

Gram Sabha meeting held to finalize labour budget
ITANAGAR, Dec 12: A Gram Sabha meeting of Sigin-
Initiating the meeting, Tapor Nalo, BDO Daporijo, briefed about the importance of IPPE in finalising the labour budget for the MGNREGA. He told that IPPE is an important step towards ensuring participation of the people; thereby bringing out the true meaning of Participatory Democracy. He added that this exercise is not just for MGNREGA but would also become a vital pool of information for other development programmes also. Speaking about the technical aspects of the IPPE, DRDA official Nabu Chokar, highlighted the meaning and importance of social mapping, resource mapping, seasonal mapping, transect walks etc.
The meeting was unique with Deputy Commissioner Komkar Dulom, Upper Subansiri, participating as the member of the village. Speaking on the meeting, the DC reiterated that Gram Sabha is an important and inalienable part of the decision making process and without Gram Sabhas, the local self govt cannot perform effectively and successfully.
Representatives from departments like PHED, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fishery, ICDS, KVK, Veterinary & Power were also present in the meeting. The officials highlighted opportunities that can be worked upon under MGNREGA like Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, and Sanitation etc. The officials also threw light on the various aspects and opportunities of converging MGNREGA with the various line departments.
BPT members, Tilling Sambyo, EO(RE), GopalSikom, Doyom Ronya and Dolii Ngomdir of CD Block Daporijo demonstrated social/resources and seasonal mapping during the meeting for the validation at the Gram Sabha.
After threadbare discussion in consonance with the various maps and the priorities for work as laid by the people, all the proposals were approved.

PM has been selling his Make in India campaign to the world claiming that this will bring in investment and subsequently help in economic growth. However with RBI governor giving guarded response, it seems like not everyone is excited about his Make in India campaign. Instead of concentrating in governance and carrying out economic reform agenda, BJP government at the moment is following dangerous communal agenda. We can only hope that they will not continue to hang on to communal agenda to hide their failed governance.

Poor quality work
Dear Editor,
Through your esteemed daily I would like to draw the attention of concern executing agency of sector road maintenance works within Itanagar Township. The maintenance works of sector roads is underway but it is found that work is being carried out without technically expert supervision. Instead, surprisingly works are left in hands of few unskilled labors. The worst quality of work can be witnessed in the portions of works they have constructed so far, which may not even last for a month or two by considering physical aspects of the road geometry. Regularize remaining SSA teachers
Dear Editor,
Through the column of your esteemed daily, I would like to highlight some view regarding the news item published in your daily on 10th December 2014 under the headline “AAPETA writes to Education Commissioner”. I support the move of AAPETA for seeking promotion of Assistant Teacher (ATs) to Junior Teachers (JTs) on seniority basis through Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC). The regularization of J/T (SSA) has been done 50 percent through State Project Director (SPD) or Director of School Education (DSE) and the remaining 50% of regularization should be regularized through APCS Examination.
In this regard, it is good to hear that the regularization of J/T (SSA) will be done
through the most prestige APCS Examination. I would like remark that most of the
SSA teachers who have been regularized through the department on seniority basis
were 2003-
Almost all the J/Ts (SSA) of next batches have completed or either is pursuing D.EI.
Ed, B.Ed. courses which is most significant for the SSA Teachers to secure their
job. An order has already been issued in this regard by the education department
directing all teachers to complete the necessary B.Ed or D.EI.ED degree on or before
2015. I fee worried, if the remaining 50% of J/Ts (SSA) Teachers of the state would
not be regularized and the process of regularization SSA Teachers would stop or discontinued
then what will happen to the SSA Teachers those having the qualification or degree’s
of B.Ed, D.EI.Ed courses as well as those who are still pursuing the said courses
under SSA scheme provided by IGNOU. Soon, the hopes and qualification of SSA Teachers
would go in vain. Our efforts, hard work, sincerity, reciprocal reward will ruin
at last, because we have cope numerous kind of hardship situation in this SSA service
such as posting at far flung areas, late release of monthly wages, given duties on
election time etc. If possible try to understand our problem and co-

Release salary
Dear Editor,
We the All Arunachal Contractual Staff Nurse Association would like to urge our Head of Department to release our salary immediately which we are not getting for the past six months. It’s impossible to continue without getting wage and moreover we don't get any extra time for earning as our duty is stipulated. We staff nurses reside in rented house and we don't get our payment regularly, so how can we managing our daily life. Please no more punishment to us and kindly release our salary immediately.
